Siberia: The Card Game

Siberia: The Card Game is a 20-minute card game for 2–4 players about extracting valuable resources in the wilderness of Siberia. Players use investors, salesmen, and workers to gather gas, charcoal, petroleum, diamonds, and gold while building the most profitable collection.

Eight resource cards form the resource row, with the three leftmost cards face-up. Resources of the same type must be extracted from left to right, creating a race to claim the most valuable opportunities. Each player begins with one worker in play and five action cards in hand.

Every action card combines one resource symbol with one of three worker types. At the start of a turn, a player reveals one face-down resource card, then chooses whether to pass and draw two action cards or play two cards bearing the same symbol. Passing is flexible, but hands are limited to eight cards; playing cards allows the player to claim a character or extract resources, followed by drawing one card.

• Investors reduce the future cost of extracting a particular resource to one card.
• Salesmen can increase the end-game value of a resource or a character type.
• Workers let players extract more resources when they take action.

When extracting, players take one resource card from the row for each worker they have in front of them, then refill the row with face-down cards. Any two action cards can serve as a joker, although at least one card must show the appropriate symbol for the chosen action.

Once the final resource card is revealed, everyone receives one last turn before scoring. Characters are worth $1,000 each, while resource cards score their printed values unless modified by a salesman. The five salesman cards can also be used as an expansion for Siberia, making Siberia: The Card Game both a standalone experience and an addition to the original game.
