About this board game
Sibille is a strategic tarot game for 2 to 4 players, with games lasting around 90 minutes. As fortune tellers, players compete to obtain divine approval by pursuing goals set by four randomly selected deities.
Each deity provides a different game-ending objective. The first player to fulfill two of the four objectives wins, creating a race in which players must balance their own plans with predictions about their opponents.
Every player has a personal deck of 22 tarot cards that are almost always available. Each card is connected to a specific action. During a round, players choose and play three cards to take their related actions, while also playing three cards face down to guess their opponents’ plays.
These choices drive the game’s central blend of predictive bidding, interaction, combos, and chains of actions. The cards let players influence several interconnected elements of the game, while the changing objectives encourage flexible planning throughout the session.
- Customers: resource-generating engines disputed between the players.
- Artifacts: power-ups to acquire.
- Tarot cards: a resource to manage for their availability.
- Tracks, resources, and tokens: additional elements affected by the cards and their actions.
With four randomly chosen divine goals shaping each game, no single path to victory is fixed in advance. Players must read the table, anticipate rival choices, assemble effective action chains, and satisfy two objectives before anyone else. In Sibille, fortune telling becomes a contest of timing, prediction, and tactical opportunity.
