About this board game
Slip Strike is a competitive two-player game of teleportation, time-travel, and tactical combat that plays in about 15 minutes. Each player controls an agent who has slipped into another dimension, where a single successful strike can decide the confrontation.
At the start of each round, both players secretly choose two cards from a hand of ten. These cards become their actions, placed face down before being revealed simultaneously, one at a time. Players must read the situation, seek an opening, and try to strike their opponent while avoiding a strike themselves.
Taking a strike would normally mean losing the game, but teleportation offers a way to escape. The struck player can permanently discard a teleport card to Slip out of the location, time-traveling to a moment when they were not there. This powerful defense keeps the duel alive, but each escape reduces the player’s remaining ability to Slip.
- Secretly select two actions from a hand of ten cards.
- Reveal and resolve those actions one at a time.
- Use teleportation to Slip away after taking a strike.
- Outlast your opponent’s ability to escape and knock them out of the dimension.
The tension builds as both players spend their options and attempt to predict the other agent’s next move. Eventually, one player will run out of the ability to Slip, allowing the opponent to land the decisive knockout and win.
Slip Strike is normally designed for two players. By combining the blue and orange editions, which feature different art and asset cards, you can play with up to four players in the same game.
