About this board game
So Long, My World is a psychological horror card game for 1-5 players, with approximately 40 minutes of play time. Set during humanity’s final hours, it invites players into a dreamlike, procedural narrative about identity, memory, and the meaning of existence.
Humanity is dying, and the cause remains unknown. As the end approaches, a glimpse of self-awareness begins to emerge. Through an immersive theme and unique art style, the game asks players to confront questions drawn from existentialism, structuralism, and psychoanalysis.
In Solo Mode, cognitive disruption threatens to erase what you discover. Unlock Vision cards—memories and thoughts connected to people and places you may encounter before the end—while trying to keep them from becoming locked again. Each scenario introduces its own setup, card sets, conditions, and possible endings.
- Unlock Visions while resisting cognitive disruption.
- Discover Words, archetypical signifiers of human consciousness, to gain new powers and scenarios.
- In multiplayer, collect Feelings tokens and use them to play Remnant cards.
- Use Remnants to change a person’s heart or alter the perception of time, helping or hindering opponents.
In multiplayer, players choose among Vision cards to gather Feelings and explore their true selves through Remnant cards played from their hands. Choices can reshape the experience for everyone at the table, creating tension between cooperation, interference, and self-discovery.
With every scenario, So Long, My World turns philosophical questions into play: Is morality universal or constructed? Does life have purpose if nobody remembers you? And can a soul exist as a physical thing?
