Soldier Kings: The Seven Years War Worldwide is a 2–8-player strategy game about the first truly worldwide conflict, with games lasting about 480 minutes. Set between 1756 and 1763, it places Britain, France, Austria, Prussia, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands, and Turkey in a struggle for influence across Europe, India, South-East Asia, and America.

Each player commands armies and fleets, supported by a selection of generals and admirals. Armies travel across land areas while fleets move through sea zones, allowing players to attack enemy forces, besiege defended areas, and seize territories that provide money and manpower.

Resources are central to the war effort. Manpower is used to rebuild forces, while money finances their actions. Combat uses dice based on attack factors, with generals able to improve a force’s performance. Capturing an area requires defeating its garrison through siege as well as driving away any enemy armies present.

Diplomacy creates a constantly shifting political landscape. Some allies are established at the beginning, while others can be forged during play; every power outside your alliances is an enemy waiting to be confronted. No nation is truly neutral for long.

The game’s distinctive momentum comes from its cards. After a short opening countdown, cards can be played at any time and in any order, introducing events such as mercenaries, local militia, changing leaders, royal marriages, burned bridges, early snow, and varying harvests.

• Seven scenarios: one campaign covering the entire war and six shorter, year-based scenarios.
• Play ends at a predetermined turn or when a player achieves an automatic victory condition.
