About this board game
Someone Has Died is an improvisational storytelling game for 3–6 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. Set at a will arbitration, it challenges players to convince an estate keeper that their character is the most worthy of the deceased’s fortune.
Each player creates a wacky character with the help of identity, relationship, and backstory cards. These cards provide the ingredients for an entertaining claim to the inheritance, combining unusual personal details with a connection to the person who has died.
Once the characters and their stories take shape, players argue against one another for the riches and glory. The heart of the game is improvisational storytelling: players use their assigned details to build a case, defend their character, and make their claim seem more deserving than the competition.
