About this board game
Songs of Far Shores: Omen Game 1 is a standalone card game for two players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. As rival half-god children of the Olympians, you compete to prove which mortal offspring deserves to join the gods.
To win the contest, you must sack three cities where the gods have hidden powerful Kraters, each infused with divine power. Spend Coins to muster soldiers, beasts, seers, muses, and other Units, then deploy them to the cities and build your Strength before your sibling can claim the rewards.
Each turn follows five distinct steps:
- Wealth: Use three Wealth Actions to draw Units or gain Coins, with a bonus for focusing all actions on one resource.
- Surge: Spend Coins to play Units, or discard certain cards for their abilities.
- Portent: Resolve the abilities of Units with the Glean Trait.
- War: Resolve any Sacked Cities and award a Reward card to the player with the most Strength there.
- Offering: Discard a card to gain additional cards and/or Coins.
A City becomes Sacked when the opposing player has at least three Units there, or when five or more Units occupy it. The winner at a resolved City gains one of its two Krater cards, worth two points at the end of the game—or one point if its ability is used.
Featuring 22 Unique Unit cards and 6 Unique Krater cards, Songs of Far Shores introduces new Traits and abilities while remaining compatible with all new and unreleased Omen games. It reimplements Omen: A Reign of War, but is not compatible with previous Omen titles or expansions.
