About this board game
SOS Titanic is a cooperative card game for 1–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Set aboard the R.M.S. Titanic after it strikes an iceberg on April 14, 1912, it challenges players to save as many passengers as possible before the ship sinks.
Using a mechanism similar to Patience, players arrange passenger cards across the Titanic’s decks and then move them into lifeboats in a particular order. Each section of the ship contains a pile of cards, but only the first passenger in each pile is available to move.
On a turn, a player draws several cards from the main deck and attempts to move passengers away from the sinking ship. Careful planning is essential, as failing to move at least one passenger—or needing to reshuffle the main deck—can cause a section of the Titanic to sink.
- Play alone or cooperate with other crew members.
- Arrange passengers across deck piles and move them to lifeboats.
- Use action cards when the situation becomes especially difficult.
- Keep sections from sinking to preserve available piles and rescue opportunities.
As sections disappear, fewer piles remain available and the hopes of those still aboard grow slimmer. Players must work quickly and use their action cards at crucial moments to overcome setbacks.
SOS Titanic ends when the ship has sunk completely or when all remaining passengers have been saved. The result is a tense rescue challenge built around card management, timing, and increasingly limited options.
