About this board game

Space Explorers is a 2017 board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 40 minutes. You lead a Research & Development Hub in a Space Research Center, competing to advance humanity’s early space program.

Recruit the best and brightest Specialists, assign them to Divisions according to their skills, and complete large-scale Projects. Your work can send satellites, manned spaceships, and orbital stations into space while earning valuable Progress points.

Recruitment uses a distinctive closed-loop resource system: whenever you add a Specialist to your team, you pass Research tokens to the player on your left. The Specialists in each Division also influence future recruitment, as having more Specialists in a Division makes it easier to recruit new members there.

• Unique Specialist abilities: every Specialist brings a different ability to your Hub.
• Changing active powers: only the top card in each Specialist stack is active, so adding a new card can reveal a useful ability while covering another.
• Project-driven scoring: gain Progress by recruiting Specialists and completing Projects.

The game ends when all available Projects have been completed or when a player has recruited 12 Specialists to their Hub. The player with the most Progress wins.
