About this board game

Speechless is a party game for 3 to 8 players, with a listed play time of 90 minutes, in which players silently act out words for others to guess.

Players take turns becoming the presenter. During a 90-second turn, the presenter attempts to act out six words while the other players watch and try to identify each one. No one may speak during the acting, making every gesture and guess especially important.

When a player thinks they know the answer, they write it on their marker board with a dry erase marker. The presenter keeps moving through the words until time runs out, creating a frantic challenge to communicate without using language.

After the timer ends, the presenter reveals the words one at a time and asks players to share their guesses. Going clockwise around the table, players reveal what they wrote. Once all guesses for a word are known, the presenter reveals the actual answer.

Scoring rewards accuracy, but Speechless also gives players a reason to think alike: if an incorrect guess matches at least one other player’s incorrect guess, everyone who made that shared mistake scores 1 point. Released in 2016, it combines silent performance, written guesses, and surprising scoring in a lively group challenge.
