About this board game
Spire’s End is a solo and cooperative card game for 1–2 players, with an approximate play time of 120 minutes. Set in a bustling Viking city, it follows a strange tower that has suddenly emerged in its heart—and the vanished townsfolk you must try to rescue.
Played like a book, the game uses an oversized deck of ominous cards to deliver an interactive, story-driven adventure. Flip cards, make difficult choices, face enemy encounters, and let the tale unfold across a six-chapter journey filled with major encounters, loot, dice events, and surprises.
Combat is at the center of the experience, but every action carries a cost. Characters spend hit points to perform actions and attacks, while stronger attacks require a greater investment. This creates tense, close, and ruthless battles where greater risk can bring greater rewards.
- Solo or cooperative play for one or two players
- Six chapters with major encounters, choices, loot, and dice events
- Seven adventurers, giving you seven chances to face the dangers of the spire
- Simple setup, intuitive rules, and minimal components
- No DM, bookkeeping, or character sheet required
Spire’s End aims for the feeling of a long-lost discovery tucked away in a closet for decades. Its influences include childhood nostalgia such as 1970s D&D, Planet of the Apes, The Time Machine, and Land of the Lost, with hints of Zork, Monkey Island, and 1980s–1990s fanzines.
With its high-end art and design, dice, cube markers, and compact card-driven format, this is a raw and unusual adventure about risk, mystery, and the cost of pushing deeper into the tower.
