About this board game

Split Personality is a fast party drawing game for 4–30 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Everyone simultaneously sketches one side of a person chosen before the round, then passes the unfinished portrait to the left.

Players draw as quickly as possible and shout “Stop!” when they are ready. The slowest player must leave their drawing unfinished. Each sheet is then folded so the next artist can complete the right side of the person without looking at the original half.

The result is a collection of mismatched, jointly created portraits. You may begin with a crown, a dress, or a face, only to discover that your neighbor must somehow continue the idea without seeing what came first. Knowing how to draw is even described as a disadvantage, making the game especially approachable for people who do not usually play games.

Split Personality is designed to get everyone involved quickly, with the race against the other artists adding pressure before the folded page changes hands. Its simple premise and playful outcome make it suitable for a broad party setting, including people who do not consider themselves gamers.

The game includes an A6 pad of 120 sheets; the German edition prints its rules on the inside of the cover. Players add a pen and, if needed, a drawing surface or shade for each participant. Separate French and English editions are available from KiKi Gagne in Canada, and the English version uses a list of people focused on Canadians that is also described as accessible to players in the United States.
