About this board game

Splitz is a dynamic card game for 2–4 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Players collect cards into face-up stacks, choosing whether to advance their own collection or prevent an opponent’s move.

Each round, the host opens cards and lays them in a row, then places dividers to create three segments: white, blue, and black. For three players, the row contains seven cards; for four players, it contains four cards. Every player secretly selects a segment by placing a card of the matching color facedown.

The host reveals the choices and the cards are distributed according to demand. An unchosen segment is removed. If one player selects a segment, that player takes it. When two players choose the same segment, they divide it and vote again, creating a direct contest over the available cards.

  • Open card information keeps every player’s options visible.
  • Three colored segments determine which cards are being claimed.
  • Uncontested segments go to their sole chooser, while contested segments are divided.
  • The host role passes clockwise after each round.

Players stack their received cards according to face value. When the deck runs out, scoring begins: for each number, a player with more cards of that number than the other players receives victory points equal to that number. The player with the most victory points wins.

The deck includes numbered cards in quantities matching their values—10 cards of “10,” 9 cards of “9,” and so on—along with 15 Jokers. Jokers can be used as any other value in a player’s stock, giving Splitz another way to shape its decisive number stacks.
