Simple GBoH Battle Manual is a two-player historical battle game publication with a listed play time of 25 minutes, featuring 55 Simple Great Battles of History scenarios.

This special C3i Magazine publication gathers every GBoH battle included in C3i Magazine issues 1 through 14, along with the “C3i – SPQR Player’s Guide.” Its scenarios span a broad period of ancient warfare, from the early hoplite battles of the Persian Wars, including Marathon and Plataea, to the Roman disaster at Teutoburg Forest during the reign of Augustus Caesar.

The manual is designed as a complete Simple GBoH rules package, while also serving as a scenario and component supplement for the appropriate Great Battles of History games and modules. The included playbook follows the style of the original Simple GBoH packet, and the updated rules and charts folio incorporates the latest errata and clarifications.

Although the rules are self-contained, playing these scenarios requires copies of the relevant Great Battles of History game and/or module, as well as the associated C3i article. Articles from out-of-print C3i Magazine issues are available as free PDF files from the GMT Games website.

Simple GBoH Battle Manual does not include the Simple GBoH scenarios for Alexander, SPQR, Julius Caesar, Conquest of Gaul, or Cataphract; those are found in the Simple Great Battles of History Playbook. The original SGBoH packet remains available for conversions covering previously published GBoH games and modules.
