About this board game

Star Borders: Humanity is a two-player science-fiction game with a 45-minute playing time, in which the Grand Imperium and Free Alliance fight for control of a contested region of space.

Each player commands one faction’s forces from a tenuous post in the Star Borders, a remote backwater with limited resources. Your goal is to build a strong reputation and make the most of your near-exile while competing for control of the region.

The game uses connected maps arranged to represent the contested area of space. Players vie for dominance in regions formed by planets, nebulas, and asteroid fields. On a turn, a player moves their units and then engages in combat, seeking to capture important locations or prevent them from being captured.

After movement and combat, players gather Logistics Points, adding a resource-management element to the struggle for territory. One player controls the blue Alliance spaceforce, while the other commands the red Imperium spaceforce.

The second edition includes mounted, jigsaw-cut maps, a full-color rulebook, sequence-of-play and terrain-effects aids, and the components needed to explore its scenarios. Star Borders: Humanity presents a focused conflict between two rival human powers, combining movement, combat, location control, and Logistics Points across a remote galactic frontier.
