Steampunk Rally: Rube Goldberg is a 2015 promotional character option for Steampunk Rally, listed for 2–8 players with a 120-minute play time. It replaces the standard two-card setup with one distinctive 4×4 card.

Instead of using separate cockpit and machine cards, Rube Goldberg has a single card depicting an understandably simplified version of a Rube Goldberg device. Its illustrated chain of mechanisms provides the character’s defining feature and gives the design a deliberately convoluted appearance.

Through the depicted series of mechanisms, a fire die provides one activation, marked with a star, for 1 movement. This creates a compact rules presentation centered on the card’s artwork and its single movement activation.

Rube Goldberg was initially offered as a print-and-play option and was also included in the Tesla Editions. The character is available for purchase and could be included in an expansion later.

The print-and-play PDF also includes the inventor stand used as the playing piece for the racecourse. Two sizes are provided: one matching the retail and Kickstarter version of the game, and another matching the print-and-play version.
