About this board game

Stick Collection is an unusual auction game for 2–5 players, released in 2021, where players compete to collect sticks with lengths differing by just 5mm.

Sticks are placed on the table one at a time, and players decide whether to join the competition or pass. The crucial challenge is that sticks cannot be measured during the auction: players must rely on their eyes while keeping their distance.

Each bid is a judgment call. You must weigh the value of a potentially useful stick against your available money, while trying to identify lengths that will fit your collection. Once a stick is won, the answer can be checked, creating moments of excitement, confidence, and disappointment.

The game ends for scoring when a player runs out of money or someone has won 8 sticks. However, an optional immediate-win condition can change the plan: if a player collects four sticks of the same length during the game, that player can win at once.
