About this board game
Strike – Counter Strike: 4th Armored Division vs Panzer Lehr along the Saar is a 1–2 player World War II game covering a battle from 23 to 27 November 1944, with a listed playing time of 1500 minutes.
Designed as an entry-level introduction to Multi-Man Publishing’s Grand Tactical Series, the game presents a compact battlefield, low counter density, and minimal exclusive rules. It highlights company-level maneuver warfare as two mobile forces clash along the Saar River.
The scenario begins as Panzer Lehr Division attacks southward into the flank of the American XV Corps. The American side commands elements of two divisions, including the delaying actions of the 106th Cavalry Group, the defense by the 44th Infantry Division, and the counterattack of the 4th Armored Division.
The historical situation is defined by converging movements. While Panzer Lehr advances south, the 4th Armored Division’s CCB moves east across the Saar before turning north toward Sarre-Union. Both players have opportunities to attack and defend, creating a focused contest of timing and maneuver.
