About this board game

Tahiti is a board game for 2–4 players, played in about 60 minutes, in which rival gatherers travel by canoe to collect food from a growing archipelago. Guide your Wa’a between islands, gather valuable resources, and earn the most points for your family by the end of the year.

Your peaceful island can no longer sustain its growing tribe, so you set out across the surrounding waters. The fertile islands provide a range of crops and fish, while hidden family favorites give each player a private scoring priority.

• Collect coconuts, taro, bananas, spice, and fish.
• Build the archipelago as new islands enter play.
• Complete full sets and pursue the most of your family’s favorite foods.
• Navigate reefs and manage the limited capacity of your Wa’a.

During the first part of the game, players expand the archipelago with the guidance of Haumea, the fertility goddess. Each turn, players also seed islands, giving them some control over where crops replenish. This creates competition over the most productive locations and the resources other gatherers are likely to want.

As the full archipelago takes shape, the late season begins. Crops become scarcer, and some islands may occasionally stop producing altogether. Fishing becomes more rewarding, with bonuses available in the waters around certain islands.

Movement and gathering are driven by action points. As your Wa’a fills with food, it becomes slower, forcing you to weigh valuable cargo against the ability to reach another island first. Treacherous reefs add further risk: go around them, or risk losing some of the crops aboard your canoe.

In Tahiti, efficient planning matters from the first harvest to the final voyage. Gather the right foods, adapt as supplies dwindle, and finish the year as the best provider for your family.
