Take the Gold is a quick draw-and-play light bluffing card game for 2–6 players, with games described as taking less than ten minutes and a listed play time of 15 minutes.

The goal is simple: be the first player to collect four gold coins. To get there, players use pirates to steal coins from their opponents, creating a lively contest of risk, timing, and deception.

Pirates are not unstoppable, however. Players can call in officers to stop them, making every attempted theft a chance to bluff or be challenged. Choosing when to make a move—and when to defend—keeps the action moving from turn to turn.

There is also a threat that can overturn everything: The Kraken. It could wipe out everything a player has, so building a fortune is never completely safe. The possibility of losing your progress gives each coin, pirate, and officer play extra tension.
