About this board game
Tales & Games: The Pied Piper is a board game for 2–5 players that plays in about 20 minutes, set in the rat-infested town of Hamelin.
Rats are everywhere, and every house has the same problem: how to keep them out. The easiest way to clear rats from your own home is to send them to your neighbors, shifting the trouble elsewhere.
As rats accumulate, houses can become overwhelmed. Whenever too many rats are jammed into a house, its occupants become desperate and move out. Keeping track of the growing infestation is therefore central to every game.
The objective is straightforward, but the situation constantly changes as rats move between houses. You must try to protect your own home while dealing with the rats that may be sent your way by other players.
The winner is the player who can best keep the rats out of their house. That focus gives each decision a direct consequence: sending rats away may ease your own problem, but it can increase the pressure on another house.
Tales & Games: The Pied Piper is the sixth title in Purple Brain Creations’ Tales & Games series. Released in 2016, it offers a compact game centered on house-to-house rat movement, mounting infestations, and the challenge of avoiding an overcrowded home.
