About this board game

Tang Garden: Big Box is a garden-building board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set during the first golden age of China, it invites players to become Imperial Garden Designers creating an incredible garden inspired by the Tang dynasty.

On each turn, players choose between two actions. They can place landscape tiles and match the elements of nature to improve their personal nature balance and unlock character miniatures. When the elements are balanced, a player chooses one available character to place in the garden, orienting the miniature toward a favorite background while keeping another character to use its ability.

Alternatively, players can draw decoration cards and choose one to place in an available garden space. Decorations help create collections and earn prestige, while each arrangement contributes to a unique, seamless scenario. The garden grows into a visual composition of landscape, scenery, and carefully considered natural elements.

Special board spaces allow players to add panorama tiles, which stand perpendicular to the board and create a seemingly endless perspective for visitors. At the end of the game, panoramas interact with the characters, awarding prestige according to what each visitor sees and likes.
