Target Earth

About this board game

Target Earth is a 1–4 player board game simulating an alien invasion of the planet, with approximately 90 minutes of play time. Across seven turns, human factions must build an alliance, confront UFOs, and secure enough Victory points to overcome the invader.

The entire planet is represented on a Global Board featuring 30 of the world’s most economically powerful countries. Countries aligned with the humans bring money and Victory points to the Alliance, while countries aligned with the Aliens count as Victory points for the invader. When the seventh turn ends, the side with more Victory points wins.

Each player represents a faction within the Human Alliance and manages a base along with its associated money, units, and cards. Human units fight both airborne and landed UFOs, while players work to strengthen their Alliance by persuading countries to join them. They must also investigate new technologies and uncover the nature of the Alien life form.

The Alien side is not controlled by a player. Instead, its actions are determined randomly each turn, with the difficulty increasing as the invasion progresses. This creates a shifting planetary crisis that the human players must address together.

• Basic mode: 1–4 players cooperate as the Human Alliance. Everyone wins if the invasion is stopped, and everyone loses if it is not.
• Advanced mode: 2–4 players form the Alliance while pursuing secret agendas and individualized Victory points.

In advanced play, the total Victory points and human technology level determine whether the Alien side wins. If humanity prevails, only one player is declared the winner according to their fulfilled agenda and performance during the Alien War. Target Earth combines cooperative defense, hidden personal goals, global positioning, and an escalating alien threat in one strategic struggle for the planet.
