Target for Tonight is a solitaire board wargame for one player, with an approximately 180-minute play time, recreating Britain’s strategic bombing campaign over Europe from 1942 to 1945.

Take command of an individual RAF bomber on an individual night mission over Hitler’s Third Reich. The game focuses on the events and decision-making processes experienced by RAF pilots during the campaign, when Britain used night area bombing against German target cities.

Choose the aircraft for your mission from four historic RAF bomber types:

• Avro Lancaster
• Short Stirling
• Handley-Page Halifax
• Vickers Wellington

Each aircraft offers a different way to represent the bomber at the heart of your mission, while the campaign places you within the evolving air war. During this period, German forces developed a cutting-edge night fighter defense system, creating a dangerous environment for RAF crews flying over occupied Europe.

Target for Tonight includes twelve campaigns, with each campaign made up of a series of individual missions. Together, these missions form your operational tour of duty with the RAF, turning each sortie into part of a larger test of endurance and survival.

Your objective is direct and demanding: survive your operational tour of duty. From selecting your bomber to facing the situations encountered during each night mission, the game places you in command of a single RAF aircraft during one of the defining air campaigns of the Second World War.
