About this board game

Tatari is a 20-minute game for 2–5 players in which friends try to escape a curse caused by mysterious Japanese dolls.

Each player begins with 10 cursed dolls to get rid of. On your turn, roll six dice and look for a combination of numbers and dolls. The result determines which shrine tile you use and how many dolls you will lose—or win.

The curse is difficult to contain because dolls discarded by other players may be picked up again. Only the last shrine permanently gets rid of the dolls, so reducing your collection does not always mean they are gone for good.

Every roll can shift the balance between escape and renewed danger. While you work to confine the dolls to a magical shrine, other players may benefit from what you manage to lose, keeping the race tense until the final turns.

In Tatari, success comes from navigating the dice results, managing your cursed dolls, and reaching the finish before anyone else. The first player to begin their turn with no dolls wins—and becomes the only one to escape.
