Tedoku

About this board game

Tedoku is a roll, flip, and write puzzle game for 1–99 players that takes about 10 minutes to play. It combines the logical satisfaction of Sudoku with the spatial challenge of arranging polyomino shapes.

Each player uses a pencil and their own 9×9 grid. Across 20 rounds, everyone works from the same card and die results, but each player makes their own placement decisions.

• Flip a card to identify a row, column, or 3×3 sector.
• Roll the TEDOKU die to reveal the polyomino shape to draw.
• Place the shape so that part of it touches the indicated grid area.

Shapes may be rotated or mirrored, giving players flexibility as their grids fill. Every shape must stay within the grid and may not overlap any previously drawn shapes. If no legal placement is possible, the player skips that round.

After the twentieth turn, players score their completed rows, columns, and 3×3 sectors. The player with the highest score wins, while ties are broken by the fewest empty squares.

Tedoku supports solo play as well as group play, with all players responding to identical inputs on their own sheets. The shared reveals create a common puzzle framework, while individual decisions determine how efficiently each 9×9 grid is completed.
