About this board game
Tenpenny Parks is a worker placement and polyomino tile game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes. Over five rounds, you’ll transform the town of Fairview into a spectacular theme park and compete to attract the most visitors.
As the park’s planner, gather a team of bankers, realtors, contractors, builders, and arborists. Assign workers to purchase attractions, clear land, and increase your funds. Your park can feature rides inspired by the stone age, the American old west, fantasy, outer space, and the depths of the sea, alongside treats and greenery.
At the start of each round, one player rotates the carousel to change attraction prices in the market. Place a worker on a carousel space to buy an available attraction, but manage your money carefully: you’ll need to save funds for advertising at the end of the round. Race along the emotion tracks to gain valuable rewards, including an extra worker, money, or the first-player marker.
- Worker placement: Compete for actions that expand your park and improve your resources.
- Polyomino placement: Fit attractions and concessions onto your player board while planning around trees.
- Dynamic pricing: Rotate the carousel to influence the market and create difficult choices for opponents.
- Strategic scoring: Earn Visiting People tokens from attractions, secret individual goals, emotion tracks, and other bonuses.
Every placement matters. Attractions may provide extra benefits when positioned over certain areas, while trees can obstruct your plans or be cleared by assigning an arborist. Tiles cannot share an edge, leaving visitors room to stroll and enjoy the shade.
After the fifth month, tally your Visiting People tokens and bonuses. In Tenpenny Parks, the player with the most visitors earns the Golden Key to Fairview.
