About this board game

Terra is a trivia party game for 2–6 players that takes about 45 minutes, challenging players to estimate answers about geographic and historical facts.

Each oversized card presents a topic with three related questions. One card might ask where an event took place, when it happened, and how many people attended. You do not need perfect knowledge: a rough idea can be enough to score.

On your turn, place tokens on the appropriate areas of the board. Depending on the question, that might mean marking a location on a world map, choosing a position on a timeline, or estimating a value on a number line. Correct answers score points, while close answers can also be rewarded.

If you have no idea, pay attention to the table: Terra lets you take advantage of friends who know the answer. The result is a game of estimation, shared knowledge, and calculated guesses rather than a test reserved for trivia experts.

Terra is a redesign of Friedemann’s 2009 Spiel des Jahres-nominated game FAUNA, shifting its subject matter from animals to broader geographic information and simplifying the scoring. After a predetermined number of rounds, the player with the most points wins.
