About this board game
Test of Honour: The Samurai Miniatures Game is a skirmish wargame for 2–4 players, with battles lasting about 60 minutes. Each player commands roughly 5–20 models, built around a samurai hero, one or two loyal samurai companions, and a selection of clan soldiers.
The Emperor is weak, while the Shogun’s influence grows. Clan lords choose sides, settle old grudges, and seek new territory, sending their loyal warriors into swift and bloody battles. Players select their force before each game and pursue the objective set by the scenario.
Warriors activate by drawing representative tokens from a bag. A single warrior or group can then move and fight, creating an unpredictable rhythm as forces clash. Scenarios may require players to cut down the enemy, defend an outpost, or find and protect a spy.
- Samurai heroes, companions, ashigaru spearmen, archers, and musketeers
- Faction recruitment cards for the blue and red factions
- Skill, injury, and dishonour cards
- Battle dice, action tokens, fate tokens, objectives, and other battlefield markers
Play the scenarios in sequence to tell a story of bitter clan rivalry, betrayal, and revenge. With each battle, samurai can learn new skills, while choices involving deceit and trickery may lead them down a dishonourable path in the pursuit of victory.
With its focused forces, token-driven activations, and scenario-based objectives, Test of Honour presents a compact samurai miniatures battle where every decision can shape the tale.
