About this board game

Tether is a 15-minute asymmetric puzzle game for 2–4 players, in which opponents connect astronauts using consecutive numbers while working from different perspectives.

Every card features a two-digit number in one corner. Rotate the card 180 degrees, and the opposite corner shows the same two digits with their positions swapped: a card showing 68 from one side shows 86 from the other. Because opponents sit across the table, each player sees a different number on the same card.

That shared information creates the core challenge of Tether. One player or team connects astronauts horizontally across the table, while the other connects them vertically. Both sides are playing with the same astronauts, but each must interpret the cards from their own viewpoint and build connections in a different direction.

• Rotating card values: Two-digit numbers change perspective when cards are turned around.
• Consecutive connections: Link astronauts together by matching consecutive numbers.
• Asymmetric play: Opposing players use different views and directions while sharing the same puzzle.

Every play can affect what the opponent sees and how they can extend their own connections. The result is an interactive contest of spatial awareness, number reading, and timing, where the table looks different depending on which side you occupy.
