The African Campaign: Designer Signature Edition is a 1–2 player wargame with an approximately 180-minute playing time, covering the North African Campaign from December 1940 through December 1942.

Players explore the key elements of the Desert War, beginning with Wavell’s first offensive, Operation Compass, against the Italian forces of Marshal Graziani. The campaign culminates in December 1942, when the Americans landed in Rommel’s rear, sealing the ultimate fate of the Afrika Korps.

Designed by John Edwards and re-mastered for this updated edition, the game recreates the ebb and flow of battle and the wide-swinging action of the desert. Both sides can launch major offensives as the campaign’s momentum shifts, while low counter density helps keep play swift and manageable.

Key facets of the campaign are represented through focused gameplay systems and strategic decisions, including:

This Designer Signature Edition updates the Jedko 2nd Edition with known errata, along with new optional rules and variants published in Panzerfaust/Campaign #74 in July–August 1976. Upgraded components include a larger playing surface measuring 1.5 maps and 5/8-inch counters. The result is an edition intended to honor a classic design while offering an experience that can be completed in a single sitting, for both experienced grognards and newcomers. The African Campaign combines historical scope with accessible, decisive desert operations.
