The Battle of Monmouth is a two-player American Revolution wargame with a listed play time of 1,200 minutes, covering the events of June 28, 1778. It is Volume VI in the acclaimed Battles from the Age of Reason series.

The game explores the fateful engagement in which the Continental Army, led by George Washington, attacked Sir Henry Clinton’s British and Hessian column. The column was withdrawing from Philadelphia and retreating across New Jersey toward New York, in an event that signaled the tide had turned in the war.

Four scenarios present different views of this dramatic situation. Players can examine Lee’s Repulse, Washington’s Stand, or the complete Battle of Monmouth Courthouse. The fourth scenario, The General Engagement, offers a “what if” exploration of a possible second day of battle.
