The Blob that Ate the City

About this board game

The Blob that Ate the City is a 30-minute game for 1-99 players, released in 2022. You are a blob with one goal: eat the city, grow big, and earn the most points.

Each round begins with a roll of two dice. Use one die to draw a shape in your city, then use the other die to grow that shape. As your blob expands, every polyomino placed in your city is different, creating a continually changing spread of shapes.

To devour a city shape, your blob must completely cover every square in that shape. Careful placement and growth determine which city pieces you can cover, turning each roll into another step in your attempt to consume the city.

• Roll two dice each round.
• Use one die to draw a shape in the city.
• Use the other die to grow that shape.
• Completely cover city shapes to devour them and earn points.

After completing the 16th roll and round, total the points earned from every city piece you devoured. Then count each square in your largest blob die area, earning one additional point for each square it contains.

The player with the most points wins. With its simple objective and evolving polyomino shapes, The Blob that Ate the City builds toward a final scoring count of devoured city pieces and your largest area.
