The Brain

About this board game

The Brain is a card-based puzzle game for 1–4 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Players make repeated attempts to solve the puzzle, relying on logic, deduction, counting, and a little bit of luck.

Communication is not allowed during play, so every decision must be made without discussing the puzzle with the other players. The group continues trying until it either succeeds or gives up, with each attempt offering a chance to work out how to do better.

On your turn, place one card from your hand in the middle of the table and perform the action shown on it. Then draw a new card from the deck. The puzzle develops through these decisions as cards are played and the table changes.

To win, play all the cards in your hand while the draw pile is empty. However, if the predetermined number of cards is on the table at the end of a turn, everyone loses. This creates a precise challenge: make progress while avoiding the condition that ends the attempt.

If an attempt fails, players can discuss what happened and plan how to improve before trying again. Released in 2023, The Brain offers a compact puzzle experience built around silent decisions, shared deduction, and the determination to clear every card.
