About this board game
The Eye of Judgment is a hybrid paper-and-electronic collectible card game for 1–2 players, with matches lasting about 30 minutes. Using a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Eye camera, players summon creatures and cast spells from 30-card decks while competing to control a majority of the nine fields on a 3×3 grid.
Players win by controlling five fields or by leaving their opponent without cards to play. Each turn, mana is automatically generated and spent to play cards. Creatures have Hit Points, Attack Scores, special abilities, and individual attack and defense patterns that determine where combat takes place and how battles resolve.
Elemental positioning is central to play. The five elements are Water, Fire, Earth, Wood, and Biolith, while each grid field has a top and bottom side associated with one of them. Creatures gain Hit Point bonuses on friendly elements but can lose health when placed on an opposing element, making placement an important tactical decision.
- Play creatures and spell cards from a 30-card deck.
- Use elemental terrain and positioning to strengthen your units.
- Watch the PlayStation Eye transform cards into 3D creatures and spells on screen.
- Battle against an AI opponent, another player, or online opponents.
Each card carries an encrypted CyberCode matrix along its edges, allowing the camera to recognize it and generate digital battle animations on the PlayStation 3. The game includes a fixed Starter Deck and one booster pack, while additional themed decks include Fire Crusader, Earth Emperor, Water Barrage, Wood Swarm, and Biolith Scourge.
The Eye of Judgment can also be played as a standalone card game, although players must track effects such as mana, health, elemental advantages, and terrain changes themselves.
