The Fields of Normandy 2: A Solitaire Wargame is a one-player, approximately 75-minute hex-and-counter war game set in Normandy, France, in 1944. As a US platoon Lieutenant, you command small groups of soldiers during the inland push associated loosely with Operation Cobra.
The fighting is intense and incredibly violent. German units are well dug in and protected by artillery and mines, challenging you to direct your platoon carefully as you work to clear their defensive positions.
Your platoon includes several distinct squads and teams, each forming part of the force under your command:
- Three Rifle Squads
- A Machine Gun Team
- A Bazooka Team
- A Mortar Team
The Fields of Normandy 2 presents its solitaire war game in a portable book format. Its accessible design combines mission maps, rules, and counters for a focused battlefield experience that can be taken wherever you play.
The game includes 12 full-colour mission maps, the complete rules, and a counter sheet to mount on card. To play, you will need to provide two or three six-sided dice. Released in 2023, it offers a compact way to take command of a platoon and face the fortified German positions of Normandy.
