About this board game
The Frozen Passage is a cooperative card game for 1–4 players, with expeditions lasting around 20 minutes. Together, players navigate a perilous sea route inspired by the dream of discovering the Northwest Passage.
Your shared objective is to connect 15 cards while meeting the necessary arrangement conditions. Players gradually extend a route across the sea, building an inverted pyramid from the bottom toward the goal cards at the top.
The cards feature three colors and numbers from 1 to 9. Because every player’s hand is hidden, success depends on predicting which cards the other players hold and choosing how to help complete the path without sending the expedition off course.
- Cooperative play for 1–4 players
- Approximately 20 minutes per game
- Three colors of cards numbered 1 to 9
- A shared inverted-pyramid route leading to goal cards
- Limited communication that increases the tension
- Special items that must be used carefully
Icebergs threaten to sink the ship, and even a slight loss of focus can steer the voyage toward failure. Players must decide which direction to take, when to use their limited special items, and how much they can infer from the information available to them.
If everyone manages to place all of their cards while satisfying the required rules, the expedition succeeds. With hidden hands, restricted communication, and a carefully expanding route, The Frozen Passage turns teamwork and deduction into a tense journey across dangerous waters.
