The Gang

About this board game

The Gang is a cooperative Texas Hold’em game for 3–6 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Together, you must pull off a series of bank heists by correctly judging how your poker hands will rank against those of the other players.

At the start of each round, players assess their cards and secretly choose a chip showing how strong they believe their hand will be relative to the rest of the gang. Communication is not allowed during this decision, so every choice depends on personal evaluation and the table’s developing situation.

Cards are then dealt into the middle of the table. As more cards are revealed, players have an opportunity to reassess their hands and their predictions. The goal is not simply to build a strong poker hand, but to accurately place each player in relation to everyone else.

When the round ends, the gang checks whether all players evaluated their hands correctly. If everyone is right, you open one of the bank vaults. If even one prediction is wrong, the alarm is triggered.

The Gang presents a clear shared objective with a tense risk of collective failure. Open three vaults before triggering the alarm three times, and your gang wins. Released in 2024, it combines poker hand evaluation with silent cooperation and a race against the alarm.
