About this board game
The Generals is a two-player electronic strategy game from 1980, designed for games lasting about 10 minutes. Each player commands an army of 21 pieces, ranging from Five Star General to Private, along with two power Secret Agents.
Victory comes through positioning and calculated risk. Capture your opponent’s flags, or maneuver your own flag into the opponent’s front row. Every move places your army in a contest of strategy and courage as you decide where to advance and when to challenge.
A challenge occurs when your piece and an enemy piece occupy the same square. Because the strength of each piece is hidden, neither player knows exactly how an attack will end. The electronic arbiter determines which piece has the higher rank, and the victorious piece wins the position while the defeated piece is removed from play.
- Two-player electronic strategy and suspense
- 21 pieces per army, from Five Star General to Private
- Hidden piece strength for uncertain attacks
- Light and sound signals during challenges and victories
- Two ways to win: capture the opponent’s flags or reach the opponent’s front row with your flag
Flashing lights signal victory or defeat after each attack, while electronic sounds accompany challenges and salute the game’s winner. These effects make every confrontation feel like a decisive moment without revealing the hidden strength in advance.
With its compact play time and built-in electronic referee, The Generals turns each move into a suspenseful decision. Plan your army’s position, accept the risks of battle, and rely on the arbiter to reveal the result.
