The Girl Who Made The Stars is a worker-placement, tile-laying puzzle game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Based on a San African myth, it tells the story of a young girl who brings light to a dark, featureless night.

After her mother cooks dinner, the girl takes ash and roots and casts red and white embers into the sky. The swirling ashes form the Milky Way and the stars, illuminating the night so the villagers can safely seek the resources they need to survive.

Players take the role of village elders, looking into the newly lit sky and discerning forms among the stars. Use tiles to draw constellations into the earth, with your creations gaining light, stars, and stardust for the village.

With this newfound light as their guide, villagers venture into the surrounding darkness to collect valuable resources. These include:

• Fruit
• Fish
• Small game
• Large game

Gathering resources increases your reputation, creating a direct connection between the village’s survival and your standing as an elder. The player with the highest reputation at the end of the game wins.

Combining worker placement, tile laying, and puzzle-solving, The Girl Who Made The Stars presents a distinctive myth-inspired challenge for solo play or groups of up to four. Build patterns from the stars, illuminate the village, and lead its villagers into the darkness in search of what they need.
