About this board game
The Great Commission: Strategic Card Game is a cooperative or solo strategy card game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Set in the first-century Roman Empire, it challenges you to lead a church, share the Gospel, and assemble your community before time runs out.
Each player begins with a church location, a leader, and six church members. Locations such as Rome and Jerusalem, along with leaders including Peter, Paul, James, and Mary Mother of Jesus, shape your starting strategy. Every member brings distinctive abilities and gifts, as well as possible struggles with sin, conflict, or demonic opposition.
Use tableau-building, resource management, and engine-building to make the most of your team. Players can communicate freely, deciding who acts and in what order, while simultaneous turns keep the cooperative challenge moving. Multiuse cards and variable difficulty settings support different play styles, including child-friendly modes and double-sided location cards with Standard and Challenge modes.
- Cooperative multiplayer and fully developed solo play
- Event Cards that create unexpected opportunities or temporary obstacles
- Blessing Cards featuring powerful spiritual gifts and divine intervention
- Troubles involving persecution, internal struggles, and spiritual attacks
Your church must address its Troubles through intercession with wisdom or faith. If these problems are not resolved effectively, they can damage and eventually end the life of the church. Meanwhile, the Event Deck steadily counts down the time available to complete your mission.
To win, bring the Gospel to every person in the World Deck before the Event Deck is exhausted. With its historical setting, spiritual themes, and artwork drawn from Acts of the Apostles: Word for Word Bible Comic, The Great Commission combines tactical decisions with moments that invite philosophical reflection.
