About this board game
The Hanging Gardens is a 45-minute board game for 2–4 players, in which landscape architects compete to recreate the beauty and splendor of the legendary Hanging Gardens.
The original gardens were built for Queen Amyitis and are counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, yet no exact reference remains to guide their reconstruction. Each player is therefore free to develop a design according to their own taste.
During the game, players acquire building cards and place them in their own play areas. Card by card, their gardens take shape with magnificent buildings, sparkling fountains, and exotic plants.
- Acquire building cards and add them to your play area.
- Create a personal garden design without an exact blueprint to follow.
- Combine buildings, fountains, and exotic plants in your attempt to impress the Queen.
The Hanging Gardens presents a setting built around creativity and personal vision: every player works to reestablish the splendor of a wonder whose existence itself remains uncertain. The gardens grow through the addition of striking features, as each landscape architect develops a distinctive interpretation.
At the end of the game, Queen Amyitis judges the completed works. She awards the victory palm to the player whose garden most impresses Her Highness, making the final presentation the culmination of every card placed during the game.
