The Lord of the Rings: Journey to Mordor is a 2015 dice-rolling game for 2–4 players, with a play time of about 20 minutes.
Sauron threatens to plunge Middle-earth into eternal darkness while he seeks the One Ring. Players take on the task of bringing the Ring to Mordor and destroying it in Mount Doom, guiding their hobbits through a dangerous journey.
With each roll of the dice, players make decisions and try to move their hobbits as quickly as possible. The key is choosing the right dice symbols and being bold enough to press forward while dealing with the threats along the way.
- Gandalf and the community can support the journey.
- Orcs may block the hobbits’ progress.
- Ringwraiths, also known as Nazgûl, can pursue the travelers.
The goal is clear, but reaching it requires careful choices during every roll. Players must move quickly, overcome obstacles, and try to shake off the Nazgûl before completing the mission at Mount Doom.
The Lord of the Rings: Journey to Mordor brings the central danger of the One Ring to a compact game of dice, decisions, pursuit, and perseverance. Its short playing time makes the race to Mordor a focused challenge for groups of two to four players.
