About this expansion

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Drowned Ruins is a 2016 Adventure Pack for 1–2 players, offering a scenario designed for approximately 60 minutes of play. It is the fourth Adventure Pack in the Dream-chaser cycle.

After surviving treacherous seas, Corsairs, a ferocious sea monster, and an island filled with evil Undead, Middle-earth’s heroes reach the Temple of the Deceived. They carry a mysterious key and expect to find the locked chest it can open, but first they must navigate the temple’s dangerous Underwater passages.

The new scenario introduces deadly Underwater locations and the monsters that dwell within them. This submerged temple setting adds a fresh danger to the heroes’ journey as they search their way through the Drowned Ruins.

The Adventure Pack contains sixty cards, including a new Silvan Lore hero and three copies each of nine different player cards. These cards reinforce the Dream-chaser cycle’s focus on cards that belong to one sphere of influence while offering bonus effects when paid for with another sphere.

  • New Silvan-themed cards, including Scout and Warrior allies
  • New cards for Hobbit, Dúnedain, and Trap decks
  • A new Title attachment for Secrecy decks built around playing with two or fewer heroes

With its underwater scenario and broad selection of player cards, The Drowned Ruins expands the deck-building possibilities of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game while continuing the Dream-chaser cycle’s distinctive themes.
