The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Nightmare Deck: The Hunt for Gollum is a challenging 60-minute scenario enhancement for 1–2 players, designed to revisit the original quest in Nightmare Mode.

This Nightmare Deck reshapes a scenario players may already know with deadlier enemies, darker locations, and more terrifying surprises. It offers a new journey through familiar territory, introducing twists and turns intended to keep the experience tense and unpredictable.

The deck includes twenty new encounter cards to add to the matching original quest. These alternate cards change the contents of the encounter deck, creating a harsher version of the adventure without replacing the original scenario.

• Twenty new encounter cards for the matching quest
• A Nightmare Mode card explaining which older cards to remove during setup
• An additional card providing new game rules

Before playing, players use the Nightmare Mode card to adjust the original setup, then combine the specified new cards with the scenario’s encounter deck. The result is a refreshed challenge that revisits The Hunt for Gollum from a darker perspective.
