The Prodigals Club

About this board game

The Prodigals Club is a strategic board game for 2–5 players, with a play time of about 100 minutes, in which Victorian gentlemen compete to destroy their own social standing.

Having discovered that the lower classes have more fun, you and your fellow players enter a friendly contest to become the greatest social failure. Success means losing at the right things—not building wealth, influence, or reputation.

The game features three separate competitions, each offering a different route toward disgrace:

• Lose an election by trying to undermine your own campaign.
• Get rid of all your possessions as you work to abandon your worldly goods.
• Offend influential people and alienate the most important figures in high society.

You can play any two competitions together, or combine all three for the complete challenge. Each competition interacts with the others, so your decisions in one area can affect your progress elsewhere. To win, you must balance your strategy and perform well across the competitions you choose.

Released in 2015, The Prodigals Club is thematically related to Vladimir Suchý’s Last Will, but it stands alone and does not require that game to play. If you own both titles, the rulebook also explains how to combine them for an expanded experience.
