About this board game

The Red Dragon Inn is a game for 2–4 players that takes about 45 minutes, placing a party of heroic fantasy adventurers in a lively inn after a successful dungeon raid.

You have defeated monsters, claimed their treasure, and returned ready to celebrate. At the Red Dragon Inn, the evening unfolds through drinking, gambling, and roughhousing as adventurers enjoy—or endure—their hard-earned victory.

Every player takes the role of one of four distinctive characters. Each adventurer brings a different personality to the party, creating a colorful cast for the night’s festivities:

  • Deirdre the Priestess
  • Fiona the Volatile
  • Gerki the Sneak
  • Zot the Wizard

The celebration has two pressures to manage. Your character must remain sober enough to stay conscious, while also being shrewd enough to hold onto their Gold Coins.

As the night continues, the adventurers’ revelry becomes a contest of endurance and fortune. The last person who is still conscious and still possesses Gold Coins wins the game.

With its fantasy-adventure setting and focus on an evening of rowdy celebration, The Red Dragon Inn presents a memorable aftermath to the dungeon crawl. Rather than ending when the treasure is won, the story continues at the inn, where drinking, gambling, and roughhousing decide who can make it through the night.

Originally released in 2007, The Red Dragon Inn is built around a simple question: after defeating the monsters and collecting the treasure, which adventurer can celebrate longest without losing consciousness—or their Gold Coins?
