About this expansion

The World Cup Game: Expansion Set 5 is a 2009 expansion for 3–16 players, with a playing time of approximately 45 minutes. It brings three additional World Cup tournaments to the series: Switzerland 1954, Mexico 1970, and France 1998.

Released in April 2009, this set is the final expansion in the series. With these tournaments included, it extends the game’s coverage across more of World Cup history and supports the goal of playing a complete historical World Cup collection.

Expansion Set 5 also includes a set of flag stickers. These stickers can be used to create extra flag tiles for the 1950, 1974, 1978, and 1982 games from Expansions 3 and 4, adding useful material for those earlier tournament scenarios.

  • World Cup Switzerland 1954
  • World Cup Mexico 1970
  • World Cup France 1998
  • Flag stickers for creating extra tiles for selected tournaments from Expansions 3 and 4
  • A complete summary chart covering the extra rules from all expansions

The included summary chart gathers the additional rules from every expansion in one place. This provides a consolidated reference for the expanded series and makes it easier to consult the rules associated with the added tournaments.

Designed as the concluding set in the expansion line, The World Cup Game: Expansion Set 5 combines new historical tournaments, additional flag materials, and a comprehensive rules summary. Together, these additions complete the series’ World Cup timeline and provide a broad historical scope for groups of 3–16 players.
