About this board game
Things in Rings is a logic-focused card game for 2–6 players that plays in about 20 minutes. In this 2024 game, players place object cards into a triple Venn diagram while trying to discover the rules governing its three Rings.
At the start, one player becomes The Knower. This player knows the logic rule for each Ring and facilitates the game, while everyone else begins with a hand of five object cards. The rules can relate to a wide range of characteristics, including:
- Spelling and grammar
- Physical properties
- Cultural relevance
- Industry
On your turn, play an object card into the Venn diagram. If the card fits the rules of the Ring where it is placed, play another card. If it does not fit, The Knower moves it to the appropriate area, and you draw a replacement card.
The diagram offers more possibilities than its individual Rings suggest. Cards may belong in overlapping areas where multiple rules apply, or they may be placed completely outside the Rings. Watching where cards are accepted or moved can help reveal the logic behind the diagram.
Your goal in Things in Rings is to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Can you identify the three rules before your opponents do, use the overlapping spaces wisely, and be the first player with no cards left?
