About this expansion

Through the Desert: Bazaar is a modular expansion set for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. It adds four optional twists to the classic gameplay of Through the Desert, letting players introduce a single change or combine all four for a more demanding experience.

Each module changes the desert journey in a distinct way while preserving the game’s elegant nature. Experienced players can bring out the complete set, while individual modules offer a smaller adjustment to the familiar challenge.

• Rival Nomads: Reveal Nomad cards to discover specific scoring conditions. These mysterious objectives challenge players to adapt their strategies as the game develops.
• Djinns: Visiting oases awakens mischievous djinns, whose magic makes crossing the desert more difficult.
• Special Watering Holes: Take a camel piece to place an extra piece, a crucial advantage when turns are so tight. Trading also matters: a commercial good is worthless on its own, but finding someone to trade with while holding a pair is worth ten points.
• Bazaars: Form valuable trade routes that connect desert bazaars with distant villages.

Through the Desert: Bazaar gives players several ways to reshape their plans, from responding to newly revealed scoring conditions to navigating tougher crossings and pursuing valuable connections. Its modular design makes it easy to tailor the experience to the group.
